What is Hair Testing?
Hair testing is a robust method for detecting historic and habitual drug use. This method analyses drugs within the hair shaft. Unlike testing body fluids, hair testing cannot be manipulated through short-term abstinence from drug use. Hair testing technology provides significantly enhanced detection capabilities compared to body fluid analysis methods.
What’s New?
Brassets Group is excited to announce the addition of Ketamine, THC-Delta 8, and Dexamphetamine to our standard drug panel.
Why These Changes Are Important
Ketamine
The use of Ketamine has surged, making it one of Australia’s top three illicit drugs of choice. The rise in overdose deaths and a 100% increase in Ketamine seizures in 2023/24 highlight the urgency of this issue. In response, Brassets Group has collaborated with Psychemedics Laboratory to develop an industry-leading Ketamine panel for hair tests.
THC-Delta 8
Delta 8 THC has seen widespread use in Australia, similar to trends in other parts of the world. It is an illegal substance in Australia, posing many dangerous effects and side effects. Notably, Delta 8 is not detected in most standard drug tests, underscoring the need for its inclusion in our panel.
Dexamphetamine
Dexamphetamine has always been available for testing as an additional panel however, now it is included as part of the standard panel ensuring comprehensive detection of amphetamines.
