Dr Schaffer holds a BSc in Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology and Pharm Tox PhD and has extensive experience in forensic toxicology and drug testing. Dr Schaffer serves as a laboratory inspector for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Laboratory Certification Program, formerly the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).
The author of numerous scientific publications, Dr Schaffer has served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Forensic Pathology and the Department of Criminal Justice at the University of Illinois. He also has served on the board of directors of the Society of Forensic Toxicologists, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and the American Board of Forensic Toxicologists. Dr Schaffer is Board certified in Forensic Toxicology.
